Kuala Lumpur For Kids

Every trip to Malaysia’s capital city needs to include a trip up to the Petronas Twin Towers. Whizzing up over 80 floors is not something you do every day.  Once you reach the top of these iconic buildings and look down, it’s enough to make both kids and adults squeal. With interactive games and jaw dropping views from the top, this is one place you just cannot miss.

I’ve been known to be a big kid at heart and I found myself loving how much Kuala Lumpur had to offer.  Whether you are a family or just a playful adult, this is a city of fun.

Petrosains Discovery Centre

Petroleum is a big part of Kuala Lumpur’s legacy and at the Discovery Centre your kids will learn the science of petroleum in a fully interactive centre.  No expense has been spared here and it’s a must visit when you’re in KLCC and visiting the twin towers.  The Geotime Diorama area is particularly good with huge dinosaur models which look like they’ve popped straight out of Jurassic Park.

Berjaya Times Square Theme Park

Set within the shopping metropolis of the Times Square Mall, whilst you casually stroll along, a rollercoaster and screaming riders will go whizzing by giving you the fright of your life!
Shopping in Kuala Lumpur is very good and almost everyone who visits the city ends up in the district of Bukit Bintang.  With so many malls to choose from, time your day with a morning of shopping and then head to Berjaya Times Square for an action packed afternoon in this truly giant theme park.
There are whole floors dedicated to your little ones, family rides for everyone and over 13 rides that will rocket you around the theme park if you’re brave enough.  It’s a brilliant day out and completely addictive.

Menara KL

Travel to Kuala Lumpur is not complete without visiting the iconic communications tower.  The experience has expanded offering a little something for everyone.  While the adults can enjoy the audio tour and historical talks through the ever changing city on the viewing deck, back down on level one there’s even more to do.
A mini zoo of sorts, called the Animal Zone, is a wonderful haven within the city for a look at Malaysia’s mini wildlife.  With cute pony rides available for the youngsters, high octane simulation rides for you and your older kids, Menara has become much more than just an observation tower.

Planterium Negara

I’m a big fan of planetariums around the world and Kuala Lumpur’s is no exception.  Set in beautiful grounds, a visit here will get your kids excited about outer space.   The movie is fascinating and makes you dizzy as it explains just how small we are in relation to the universe.  The exhibit of Malaysia’s first satellite to orbit earth is worth checking out too.
Take the pedestrian bridge which provides easy access from the planetarium to the National Museum of Malaysia.  Great for both adults and children the museum is a must visit in the city.
