The prominent areas and districts in Dubai 2012

Over the last decade of 20th century, Dubai has materialized as a top tourism spot and one of the most travelled place in the world. Many of the tourism and travel firms are offering flights to Dubai at a reasonable rate. It is located in the Middle East and is one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates. There are almost 70 malls situated in the city of Dubai and due to the extremely cheap and high quality goods available in these malls, Dubai has become a paradise for the shoppers. This is one of the reasons of the high number of people visiting Dubai. Also many new constructions have been made in Dubai over the past decade which has changed the complete design of the city and has included it in the list of world class cities of the world.

The city of Dubai has been divided into districts. These districts are a cluster of structures and properties and normally contain of structures of similar types. These districts includes Al Rigga, Jebel Ali, Downtown Dubai, The lagoons, Dubai Creek, Business Bay, Mirdiff, Al Satwa, Emirates Hills, Oud Metha, Jumeirah, Garhoud, Karama, Dubai Marina, Dubai Deira and Bur Dubai.

Downtown Dubai is one of the newly developed areas in Dubai. It is basically a residential and commercial area that consists of many skyscrapers and towers. The main attraction of Downtown Dubai is the Burj Khalifa which is currently the highest building in the world. Dubai Mall is also situated in this area which is the biggest shopping mall in the world. There are Dubai Fountains present in the area which are colorful and attractive.

Business bay Dubai is the commercial sector of Dubai. It is considered a small city within the city of Dubai instead of a district and is the main commercial and business centre of Dubai. It is planned to be designed in such a way that it will be an area that will contain of canals which will be supplied by water through an artificial lake. There will be no roads present in this area and it will be a pedestrian only region. The executive towers which can be considered as the heart of Business bay will be located in the middle of the planned artificial lakes. The towers in the area are planned to be constructed and connected with internal pedestrian paths thus making it possible for the people to travel from one tower to another without actually going out of the towers.

Jumeirah is a well known name in UAE due to the buildings and structures present and built in the area, which are an example of most spectacular and beautiful cultural and historical units. A particular area named Jumeirah Islands is particularly famous due to its unique architectural design. Right next to these islands, there is a mixed property development known as Jumeirah Lake Towers that contains a total of 87 high-rise buildings that are surrounded artificial lakes and gardens. The development will cover an area of 2.4 million square feet.

There are various districts among which the city of Dubai has been divided. These districts vary from each other and contain buildings which have a design and structure according to the trait of the district in which they are situated.
