Although it can be fun to visit a foreign country, learn a
few new phrases and experience another way of life, sometimes we can forget how
much we have going on in our own country. The big trend for holidays at the
moment is the ‘Staycation’; you have the advantage of getting away from it all
without the stress and the extra cost of leaving the country. The south of
England is full of seaside resorts as well as peaceful, country hideaways and
is full of often over-looked places to visit.
The seaside town of Brighton is one of the cultural hotspots
of the south of England as well as being a popular holiday destination for all
ages.
As well as being home to the famous Brighton pier and some
of the country’s most exciting nightlife, Brighton is a city of education and
experiences. It is home to numerous festivals from Brighton Fringe and the
Artists Open Houses to the Sussex Beer Festival and Brighton Fashion Week.
Whether you are passionate about the arts, music, food, drink or film, there
will be an event for you as well as seasonal celebrations such as the ‘Spring
Harvest’ and the ‘Burning of The Clocks’ to celebrate the Winter Solstice.
Brighton also has an array of museums such as the Booth Museum of Natural
History and the Brighton Toy and Model Museum. You can also visit the Royal
Pavilion, which is now open to the public as a museum of the British regency or
the Sea Life centre.
If you are more interested in scenery and seeing the
landscape, you could visit the South Downs and marvel at the impressive view
from the chalk cliffs. With so much to see and do, Brighton is an excellent
venue for couples, families and groups of friends alike. Instead of staying in
the tradition hotel or bed and breakfast, why not try staying in one of the
many holiday cottages that Brighton has to offer?
When you look into holiday flats and cottages in Brighton,
you can either veer more towards the quieter, more peaceful countryside or more
towards the seaside and town centre and be closer to all of the action. Having
your own private accommodation means that you have a base from which you can
come and go as you please as well as having all your home-from-home comforts. When
you rent a holiday cottage, you also have the advantage of being close enough
to all the festivals to experience as many of them as you want but without
having to deal with being constantly in the crowded town centre, you can get
away from it all at the end of the day and then start again in the morning and
soak in some more culture.
Whilst you are in Brighton, you may want to consider
visiting one of the nearby towns, such as Shoreham-by-Sea or Newhaven as the
south coast has so much to offer. Staying in a holiday cottage in Brighton
makes an excellent base to visit the town and it’s surrounding areas’ sites
whilst having luxury and privacy.
Brighton has a lot to offer to all different people, from
the natural beauty to the culture and history. Staying in a cottage to enjoy
the town provides you with a base with more flexibility and privacy whilst not
sacrificing on luxury.
