Five famous Australian wine regions

Australia is one of the places that witnesses high inflow of tourists annually. There are several features, which attracts people from all over the world to explore the precincts of Australia. 1. Barossa Valley
It is close to Adelaide. You can reach to this valley by driving for a couple of hours from Adelaide. This place has an interesting history to itself. Around one and a half century back, this valley was discovered. It has the perfect soil and climate to grow wine grapes. 2. Hunter Valley
Hunter Valley is often mentioned in combination with the Barossa Valley. Together they are considered as the best wine producing regions in Australia. Hunter Valley is divided into Upper Hunter and Lower Hunter. Majority of the vineyards and wineries is present in the Lower Hunter section. Wines like shiraz and Semillon are produced in Hunter Valley. 

3. Fleurieu Peninsula Wine Country
There is a wine region close to Adelaide. It is situated around McLaren. McLaren is in the Fleurieu Peninsula. Hence, this region is called as Fleurieu Peninsula wine country. In total, this region has 20 wineries. It is a famous tourist destination with many travellers coming here to explore these wineries. It is advisable that you hire a car and make a visit in large groups. In case, you have a wine tasting plan, make sure that the driver does not drink. Remember there are breathalyser units that can detect if the driver has consumed alcohol or not.

4. Riverland Wine Country
It is famously known as the land of vineyards and fruit trees. It is also the largest wine producing region in Australia. Though you can find this region less popular compared to Hunter and Barossa Valley, it has some very famous winemakers present here. As a result, many of Riverland’s labels like Renmano are popular in Australia. 

5. Mornington Peninsula Wine Region
This region has gained popularity in the era of 1970s. It is situated in the south of Melbourne and has become famous after several wineries were established there. Some of the famous wines it is known for are pinot noir, shiraz, sauvignon, chardonnay, Riesling etc.
