Hence, this region is called as Fleurieu Peninsula wine country. In total, this
region has 20 wineries. It is a famous tourist destination with many travellers
coming here to explore these wineries. It is advisable that you hire a car and
make a visit in large groups. In case, you have a wine tasting plan, make sure
that the driver does not drink. Remember there are breathalyser units that can
detect if the driver has consumed alcohol or not.

This region has gained popularity in
the era of 1970s. It is situated in the south of Melbourne and has become
famous after several wineries were established there. Some of the famous wines
it is known for are pinot noir, shiraz, sauvignon, chardonnay, Riesling etc.
