  2. Don’t drive in an empty stomach: You may never know when you get to take your first break during the journey. So, instead of taking chances, before you start your journey, have some food in proper amount. If while driving you get hungry it can affect your driving as you may feel difficult to concentrate on driving. However do not take high quantities of caffeinated beverages as they are not a good substitute for food.
  3. Check the condition of your car: When going on a long journey through difficult roads make sure that the condition of your car is good. It can be really risky if your car is not checked before the trip. If it happens to break down in the middle of the road you may be in severe danger. You may also not be able to get a mechanic or a service station. So better take the precautions first and get your car thoroughly checked before the start of the journey.
  4. Take breaks in between: If you are the only driver planning a long distance trip can be tiresome. It would thus be a good idea to take short breaks in between the journey. This will give you some time to stop and relax for some time or grab a roadside snack or get some fresh air. You can also take a short nap to avoid tiredness.
  5. Get a second driver: If you want to take a nonstop drive to the destination and reach within the shortest possible time it would be advisable to take another person with you who can drive.  If any of the other members of the family can drive it can be an added advantage.
